Legio Ignatum Reaver Battle Titan for Adeptus Titanicus - Part 2
The third titan for Legio Ignatum is coming along this week. The armor is all attached and I fixed up the trim where panels were attached to the sprue. The skeleton of the titan was shaded and highlighted with Vallejo Oily Steel and pistons were detailed with Vallejo Steel. The pistons will be creatively shaded to lend a greasy streaky look, if I'm fortunate.
I've been using a custom wash/shade whose general recipe/proportions I pulled from the 'net. It's subtler than Nuln oil, and works very well on panels and places where I don't was coffee staining or pooling to spoil things. I still prefer Nuln oils for shading metal (like guns and these skeletons), I think.
Now with Volcano Canon and claw. It's fun to have the options. I plan this titan to be a bit of a scrapper, running with Melta Canon and either claw or chainfist. but as I've still never played the game, I may find the options useful.
So that's where she stands currently. Now I can get to work on all the details; especially the carapace which is a bit drab in all black currently. The armor hasn't been shaded either, so that's gotta get done too. Probably won't wrap this project this week, but it's close. Definitely done next week.
Then we'll see. Probably should take a break on Titans and move back to either the First Legion or 40K Primaris Dark Angels/Blades of Vengeance. Oh...wait...there's also plenty more Blackstone Fortress minis to paint...Times are tough, but the hobby rolls on. The "grey pile of shame" suddenly feels like a blessing.
Stay safe out there.
Cheers and Happy Painting!
