WIP - Warmaster Titan for Adeptus Titanicus - part 3

Legio Ignatum Warmaster Titan for Adeptus Titanicus WIP

Superbia Martis walks! This week I worked on attaching all the armor panels that I have been painting separately on sprue.  Now I can finally see the overall color heraldry of the titan; and I'm very pleased with how it came out.  Next up, I'll apply transfers to complete the heraldry. Then I'll seal everything and continue on with the painting.

It all started with the leg armor.  There are so many separate panels here. From the front we have mostly the red of Mars.  Black shows on the sides of the legs and the groin armor (not shown here) with yellow strips on the outside leg panels. The lore leans towards honeycomb stripes these days, but I started my collection with stripes based on older painted titans and GW artwork, so I'm sticking with it now.

Next I worked on the torso armor, and attached the head.  I had completed enough painting that I will still be able to reach what I need to for final details now that the head is attached. The arm weapons really stand out here as NOT being painted...

Lastly, I attached the shoulder armor.  I'm leaving off the weapon armor until I finish painting the weapons.  Some details will be beneath the armor so I want to get those painted before I get them covered up.  Looking forward to a nice large Legio Ignatum symbol on that plain bear shoulder plate.

And here she stands from the rear.  Overall the color scheme turned out exactly as envisioned and I managed to NOT f-up any of the panels here (unlike the recent Warhounds...).  There is still a decent amount of painting left to do, but it is really fun to have the armor on now.  This mini-titan project is finally coming together.  There are just so many days of painting things on sprue, that it feels like these projects drag on forever.  Now, progress will appear to pick up as the final details are painted in, Legio transfers are added and I finally get to work on that base!

I'm soon to take a break for a two week family summer vacation, so I really need to dig in and get this fella finished.  When I get back from vaca, it's probably going to be all Heresy all the time for a couple months.

Best of luck with your own hobby projects.

Cheers and Happy Gaming!

  1. HOT HOT HEAT!

Looks great! I love the hazard stripes; I can't imagine using honeycomb stripes anywhere on anything Imperial.

(Man, I really need to finish the remaining 5% of assembly on my Warmaster and start painting him.)
