Greetings and welcome back. I'm sharing my completed Imperial Navy planes today, from the Aeronautica Imperialis Wings of Vengeance boxed set. The fine details make these models a fun project. While I know I could have put more into them, I had a great time and brought them to a good place overall, I think.
While cleaning up the minis, I went back to the metal details that had become obscured by layers of dry brushed grey. I also picked out a few more details like running lights and other other metal bits I had missed before.
Once I had cleaned and details the paint-work, I needed to put on some transfers. I spent quite a bit of time thinking on this. In the end I settled on simple plane numbers and a squadron symbol for the tail. Aces will get the Imperial Eagle wings, but these aren't those.
Subtle but effective and clear enough on the table. For the Thunderbolts, the squadron Ace will fly the number one plane, so these pilots get planes 2 and 3.
And that wrapped up the project for these four planes. They got popped off the painting based and put on the proper bases I had painted earlier in the year. DONE!
Then, I got started on the Ork planes too, but more on that in a future post. I hope you've enjoyed another hobby perspective on these fun aircraft. There's more photos of the final product below to check out.
For those in the US, Happy Thanksgiving!
Stay safe out there.
Cheers and Happy Gaming!
